Many of the tournaments TAV Houston participates in have Stay-and-Play requirements, which require teams and families traveling to an event to book accommodations through the tournament’s designated housing provider. These policies are established and enforced by tournament organizers, not TAV Houston, and compliance is necessary to maintain our teams’ eligibility to participate. We understand that hotel availability, pricing, and individual family circumstances can create challenges, but it is important that all families follow the established booking procedures.
If you encounter issues with hotel availability, reservation changes, booking links, or other housing concerns, please contact the tournament’s designated housing provider directly. Do not book accommodations outside the approved housing system, as those reservations may not count toward the team’s required room nights and could impact tournament compliance, leading to team forfeiture.
Team policy breaches may affect future team placements.
Traveling to out-of-town tournaments is an important part of the TAV Houston experience. To ensure athletes arrive prepared and teams can compete without unnecessary disruptions, families are responsible for arranging their athlete’s flights and transportation unless otherwise communicated by the club.
When booking flights, all families are expected to follow these travel requirements:
Tournament schedules can change with little notice, and teams may compete later than originally anticipated. Families should plan accordingly and avoid travel arrangements that could interfere with their athlete’s participation.
Our priority is to ensure every athlete arrives safely, on time, and fully prepared to compete. Any travel conflicts, delays, or unexpected changes should be communicated to the athlete’s coach as soon as possible.
There may be consequences for players that miss the last match of the tournament, or a reffing assignment if flights are booked outside of the policy guidelines.
